Your next party or romantic picnic can be enhanced by creating your own Chinese take out boxes Use your Cricut Explore and Design Space software to create two different Chinese take out box style boxes. An insert and a decorative wrap are included in each of the 3 pieces of each box. Although not required for use with finished boxes, plastic wrap is required for the top flaps. To create boxes that match the occasion, cut each piece from a different colored paper.

These boxes can be cut
from either a 12"x12" or an 8.5"x11" paper sheet. I cut
with my Cricut Explore on standard paper most of the time, so I wanted to
design pieces that didn't require larger paper. To make the most of a larger
sheet of paper, you can increase the size of your cutting files in the Design
Space.

However, these boxes
are large enough to be used for single-serving picnic treats as well. Use
food-safe waxed cardstock instead of parchment paper when storing wet food
items. The boxes I used for my sushi were lined with a small piece of parchment
paper.
Inside each box, use parchment paper to give it a more detailed appearance
Additionally, each box is equipped with a flap for closing it after it has been filled. Use a hole punch to create small holes on each side of the box and then add a wire handle.

What are the steps for assembling the Chinese takeout boxes?
Box and wrapper are
cut out. In order to make folding easier when you assemble your box with the
wrapper, fold along all score lines.
Wrapper at bottom of main box panel: Glue in place.
On the main box side,
apply glue only to the top edge of the wrapper and press firmly to adhere it in
place. Repeat the process on the other side of the wrapper as well.
4. Fold the box and
wrapper together and glue the flaps in place.
Fold top flaps and close box with flap hook. Add twine and tie it in place to finish.
Glue the wrapper to
the bottom of the main box
Add glue to the
wrapper's top and adheres it to the box's main face.
Fold the flaps on the
side of the garment.
Then, glue the flaps
into place.
Produce a large
quantity of boxes.
Your own pile of
Chinese take-out boxes should be fun. Thanks for sharing!
